GLP-1 & WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
Weight is a medical issue. Not a
willpower problem.
Weight change during perimenopause
and menopause is not a failure of discipline. It is a direct consequence of
hormonal and metabolic shifts that affect insulin sensitivity, fat
distribution, muscle mass, and appetite regulation. Treating it as a willpower
problem — with generic diets and exercise plans — ignores the underlying
biology.
At Coastal Women’s Medical, weight
management is approached the same way we approach everything else: with
comprehensive testing, physician supervision, and a protocol designed
specifically for you — not a telehealth assembly line.

GLP-1 /Oral Medication therapy — what it is and who it is for
GLP-1 receptor agonists
(semaglutide, tirzepatide, and others) are a class of medications that work by
reducing appetite, slowing gastric emptying, improving insulin sensitivity, and
supporting metabolic function. They represent the most significant advance in
obesity medicine in decades — and they work best when properly supervised. Not all patients want or need a GLP-1 medication. We have plenty of FDA approved options for you to meet your goals.
GLP-1/ Oral Medication therapy at Coastal Women’s
Medical is not a subscription to a medication. It is a managed program that
includes:
•
Comprehensive medical
evaluation before starting — labs, metabolic panel, hormone assessment
•
Prescription and careful
titration based on your response and side effect profile
•
Monthly check-ins with lab
monitoring throughout treatment
•
Nutrition and movement
guidance to protect muscle mass while losing fat
•
Direct messaging between
visits for questions and side effect support
•
Hormone optimization
alongside GLP-1 — because they interact, and a physician who understands both
matters
Our
weight management programs
Hormone & Metabolic
Program — $250/month
Complete hormone management paired
with GLP-1 therapy — managed holistically by one physician who understands how
they interact. Quarterly hormone visits, monthly metabolic check-ins, lab
monitoring, and direct messaging. This is our most comprehensive weight program
for perimenopausal and menopausal women.
GLP-1/ Oral Medication Weight Membership —
$150/month
Medically supervised GLP-1 therapy
for sustainable weight loss. Monthly virtual check-ins, medication titration,
lab monitoring, and side effect support throughout. For patients who do not
require concurrent hormone management.
GLP-1/ Oral Medication Maintenance —
$75/month
For patients who have reached
their goal weight and are on a stable maintenance dose. Quarterly visits,
prescription management, and lab review. Keeping you stable and supported
without the cost of an active titration program.
Why
hormone management and GLP-1/ Weight Management belong together
Estrogen deficiency during
menopause drives fat redistribution toward the abdomen, impairs insulin
sensitivity, reduces muscle mass, and disrupts sleep — all of which make weight
management harder. GLP-1 medications address appetite and metabolism. Hormone
optimization addresses the underlying hormonal environment. Managing both
together, with one physician who sees the whole picture, produces meaningfully
better outcomes than either approach alone.
This is the clinical argument for
why Coastal Women’s Medical exists — and why a physician who specializes in
women’s hormonal health is the right person to manage your weight.
Continuous
glucose monitoring — see what your food is actually doing
As an add-on to any weight
program, a 2-week continuous glucose monitoring program reveals your real-time
blood sugar response to food, exercise, sleep, and stress — detecting insulin
resistance years before it appears on standard labs. Includes Levels app access
and Dr. Yehl’s clinical interpretation of your full two-week dataset. $350.
